چکیده

We have investigated the photoluminescence ~PL! from anodic alumina membranes with an ordered nanopore array formed on bulk Al foils. Most of the membranes fabricated by anodization in oxalic acid showed a strong PL peak in the blue. Due to an obvious asymmetry, the PL peak can be Gaussian divided into two bands around 405 and 455 nm, having a slight shift with the sample formed in different acid concentrations. The PL excitation ~PLE! spectral examinations and analyses revealed that the two blue PL bands originate from optical transitions in two kinds of different oxygen-deficient defect centers, F ~oxygen vacancy with two electrons! and F ~oxygen vacancy with only one electron! centers. Their distributions were discussed on the basis of the observed PL and PLE behaviors. Our experimental results improve the understanding of the blue-emitting property of anodic alumina membranes. © 2003 American Institute of Physics. @DOI: 10.1063/1.1529075#

Ordered Nanoporous Alumina Membranes Formed in Oxalic/Phosphoric Acid Using Hard Anodization

Highly self-ordered alumina nanopore arrays were fabricated using hard anodization technique in different mixtures of oxalic/phosphoric acid. The phosphoric acid concentration was varied from 0.05 to 0.3 M while the oxalic acid concentration was changed between 0.3 and 0.4 M. The self ordered nanoporous arrays were obtained in anodization voltage changing from 130 to 200 V. The interpore distan...

Rf glow discharge optical emission spectrometry for the analysis of arrays of Ni nanowires in nanoporous alumina and titania membranes

During the last decade, a great variety of nanostructures (nanotubes, nanofibers or nanowires) based on metals, carbons, polymers or semiconductors, have been synthesized following different synthesis procedures by using nanoporous anodic alumina membranes (AAM) as templates [1]. The principal reason for using templates of nanoporous AAM as precursor patterns lies on the possibility to obtain, ...

Fabrication of Highly Ordered Gold Nanorods Film Using Alumina Nanopores

A simple method for fabrication of highly ordered gold nanorod film is introduced in this article. The procedure is based on thermal evaporation of gold into a porous anodic alumina film (PAA). The PPA film was fabricated by combining the hard and mild anodization. This combination effectively decreases the processing time of fabrication of highly ordered porous anodic alumina film with c...

Anodic Alumina-Mesoporous Silica Hybrid Membranes: A Systematic Study Of Alumina Filling

1. Introduction Mesoporous materials with ordered arrays of uniform nanochannels of a controllable size have wide-ranging applications, one of which is membrane separation. In order to be used as a membrane for size-exclusive separation of molecules, it is necessary to synthesize a defect-free structure with continuous nanoporosity. Mesoporous silica and porous anodic alumina have been extensiv...

Fabrication of ordered nanoporous anodic alumina prepatterned by mold-assisted chemical etching

In this article, a simple and cost-effective method to create patterned nanoindentations on Al surface via mold-assisted chemical etching process is demonstrated. This report shows the reaction-diffusion method which formed nanoscale shallow etch pits by the absorption/liberation behaviors of chemical etchant in poly(dimethylsiloxane) stamp. During subsequent anodization, it was possible to obt...
